Bore
Not to be confused with the Blaze, Breeze, or Brine.
The Bore is a protective mob that will shoot Earth Charges. The Bore also tends to burrow away from the player to keep distance.

Behavior
The Bore is a tactical, highly mobile ranged skirmisher that actively avoids face-to-face melee combat, opting instead to circle its targets and make extensive use of underground maneuvering. It is hostile toward both Players and Iron Golems.
When engaging a target, the Bore keeps its distance rather than rushing forward. It maintains its circling around its target at an 8-block radius, sometimes shifting its position clockwise or counterclockwise. The longer the Bore remains in active combat, the more its speed intensifies, ramping up smoothly over the first 6 seconds (120 ticks) from its calm base walking speed (0.23) into an aggressive sprint (0.35).
The Bore attacks by firing Earth Charges. It prefers to shoot the charges strategically by doing the following:
- Range Restriction: The Bore will only attempt to shoot if its target is between 4 and 16 blocks away. It actively refuses to open fire if the target gets too close.
- Must continue moving: To prevent the opponent from getting too many hits, the Bore tries to stay moving at all times.
- Squad Coordination: When multiple Bores fight alongside each other, they work in teams. If a Bore prepares to fire, it commands nearby allies to back away and reposition so they do not crowd together or block the projectile. Furthermore, if 2 or more nearby Bores are trying to shoot, others will hold their fire to prevent overwhelming projectile spam.
The Bore's primary survival tool is its ability to burrow beneath the ground. If its opponent gets within four blocks of the Bore, it will burrow away to a safer distance.
- Immunities: While completely burrowed, the Bore is entirely immune to standard fall damage. It is also completely immune to any attacks from the opponent.
- Hitting with a pickaxe: You can make the Bore instantly unburrow from the ground by hitting it with a pickaxe. This will stop the Bore from burrowing for an extra four seconds.
Variants
The Bore has a 0.5% chance of being a dark dripstone variant. This variant is purely cosmetic, so it does not change its behavior in any way.
- Normal Variant: The usual variant you will see. The Bore is composed of regular Dripstone.
- Dark Variant: The Bore is made of Dark Dripstone rather than the traditional dripstone.
